Note to the Musicians

|

You want behind-the-scenes info? We got it right here.

What follows is the note to the musicians for this weekend’s City Lights concerts, composed by marketing director Kristi Kovalak. It is posted on the backstage entrance doors:

As part of the festive, cinema atmosphere of our New Year's Eve concerts, we will be offering patrons popcorn, soda and boxed candy. They will be permitted to bring the snacks into the Hall -- which means you should expect some ambient sounds:

The popcorn will be served in boxes to minimize bag “crinkling” sounds but it probably will rattle a bit as folks try to get those last kernels out.

The soda will be served in souvenir cups with lids (to minimize spills) but someone will probably give the ice a shake or two and maybe even slurp (though their mother’s taught them not to).

The boxed candy also might rattle as people shake the boxes to get the last bit of candy.

So, just be aware that though we mothers try, sometimes kids just do silly things with their food.

And with that -- Happy New Year! I’ll be back on Tuesday in 2006.
