Montage!

|

As they say in Team America: “You’ve got to have a montage!”

Tom Stubbs: Waiting to board at Lambert, percussionist Tom Stubbs wanted to try out his new camera. This is my picture of Tom taking my picture. Say: “Onomatopoeia.”

Statue of Liberty: We have at last been OKed for landing after flying over the same nuclear plant again and again and again. If you look closely you can see the Statue of Liberty in this picture.

Peter Henderson and Kristin Ahlstrom: In the terrific Edward Yang film, Yi yi, a child goes around taking pictures of the back of people’s heads, because, he says, nobody sees the back of his or her own head. This is keyboardist Peter and second violin Kristin awaiting the elevator at the hotel.

Joe and George: Joe “One of the Henchmen” Clapper with George, the man who drove the truck from St. Louis to Carnegie. Praise him!

Mary and Faith: Mary Balmer and Faith Maddy of the Development Dept. looking very stylish on a sunny Friday morning in New York. Development entertained a number of SLSO fans, donors, board members and assorted folk, as well as helped with an RCGA bash on Friday night, attended by Mayor Slay, among others. They also arranged the after-concert dinner on Saturday night for 70-some assorted St. Louisans, David and Orli, David Halen and his wife and others who made up the creme de la creme (or at least those who made the list). For those of you who remember the Elliot Smith Gallery in the Central West End, I saw Elliot at the concerts.

Proof: The poster for the second night at Carnegie Hall, with David Robertson and Susan Graham.

Henchmen: A clandestine photo on the stage of Carnegie. Mike Lynch, Joe Clapper and Josh Riggs.

Ricardo and Amy: And this one’s for Amy Oshiro’s mom. Ricardo Morales (principal clarinet for the Philadelphia Orchestra) and Amy Oshiro (first violin for the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra) outside of Carnegie Hall.
