Here are a couple recent emails from SLSO fans.
In response to the posting of Amy Oshiro’s annual summer postcard, Debby writes about seeing and hearing the SLSO’s globe-trotting first violin at one of the six summer festivals she participated in this summer:
I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Amy Oshiro at the Kingston Chamber Music Festival in Kingston, Rhode Island, at the U of RI campus this summer. It is one of the quietly successful summer pleasures around here. This year the six-concert series was sold out before the first concert. The pieces she played in were the Trio in G minor for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano by Khachaturian; and the Quintet in A major for Clarinet and Strings by Mozart. She's a feast for the eyes as well as for the ears.
And David, a young Missouri composer who is currently studying at Michigan State, had this to say about Brahms and fried Oreos:
If it is possible to improve upon Brahms 2, I feel certain that a fried Oreo would do the trick.
