Traveling Talent

|

I was in charge of locating just three Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra musicians for a photo shoot with their conductor, Ward Stare, for an upcoming St. Louis magazine article. I figured, no problem. So I started making phone calls.

"Sorry, he'd love to do it but he's at music camp in Colorado." Or, "oh dear, thank you for calling, but she's at Tanglewood," or Interlochen or making music with other fantastically talented teens in the mountains of North Carolina.

I did manage to find three fantastically talented teens who were still at home in St. Louis this summer. I thought, when I was their age, I spent the summers watching dust blow across the Montana Hi-Line.
