Link Up

Link Up is a hands-on music curriculum for students in grades 3–5 that explores orchestral repertoire in the music classroom while preparing students to sing and play recorders or string instruments from their seats in a culminating St. Louis Symphony Link Up concert at Powell Hall. If you are teaching recorder, singing, or beginning violin, this curriculum is a must!

Introduce your students to the orchestra by helping them get ready to become a part of it! Find out more by watching this short video from our partners at Carnegie Hall.

What to expect when you become a Link Up teacher:

  • Complete the online Link Up Registration Form - this is also the Link Up concert tickets order form (all tickets are $5*)
  • Attend the Link Up Professional Development Workshop in October at Powell Hall - it's required for all teachers new to the program
  • Link Up materials, including student workbooks and teacher guides, will be shipped to your school
  • Teach the curriculum in your classroom in preperation for the Link Up concert at Powell Hall - most teachers usually start after winter break
  • Participate in the ultimate summative assessment of student learning, the Link Up concert, where you and your students will perform along with the St. Louis Symphony

*Students will need to provide their own soprano recorders.
