Asako Kuboki

Second Violins

American-born Asako Kuboki began her violin studies at the age of five in Japan. She went on to study in the United States at the Peabody Conservatory, with principal teachers Sylvia Rosenberg and Victor Danchenko, and eventually received both her Bachelor and Masters of Music degrees from there. Prior to joining the St. Louis Symphony, in 2001, Ms. Kuboki performed extensively with the New Horizon Chamber Ensemble, in Baltimore, a contemporary music group that worked in collaboration with composers, poets, and visual artists. Her career has taken her to Europe, Central America, Asia, and throughout the U.S. playing chamber music. As an orchestral player she has performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the Key West Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in the Aspen Music Festival and School, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Credomatic International Music Festival in Costa Rica, American Institute for Musical Studies in Austria, and the Pacific Music Festival in her hometown, Sapporo, Japan. In recent years Ms. Kuboki has been performing with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.
