
Tina Ward has been a member of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra since 1970. She has appeared as a soloist with the orchestra on several occasions and has served as acting E-flat clarinet and Assistant Principal Clarinet. For over a decade, Ms. Ward was the Principal Clarinet in the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. She has been an active chamber music performer including appearances on “From the Garden – Live!” and throughout the community in SLSO Education and Community Partnership presentations. As a clarinet teacher, Ms. Ward has had numerous private students and has been adjunct clarinet at Webster University, University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Washington University. Ms. Ward has also been a coach for the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, in addition to judging and coaching youth ensembles for the Community Music School of Webster University. She has an master’s in music history from Case Western Reserve University, and a bachelor’s in clarinet performance and music education from Oberlin College Conservatory.
