Please Note: Orli Shaham and David Robertson became the happy, yet exhausted, parents of twin boys, Nathan and Alex, on Saturday, September 15. The SLSO Music Director and Conductor has withdrawn from his conducting duties this week in exchange for his new-father duties.  The SLSO is grateful to Jahja Ling, Music Director of the San Diego Symphony, for taking over the conducting duties for the Powell Symphony Hall concerts, this Friday and Saturday, on such short notice. Unfortunately these program notes were produced before the conductor change.
