JEREMY GEFFEN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, ARTISTIC ADMINISTRATION
FOR THE SAINT LOUIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
He Joins the
Orchestra from the New York Philharmonic
ST. LOUIS, Jan. 26, 2005 –
Randy Adams, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra executive director
and president, announced today that Jeremy Geffen has been named
vice president, artistic administration. Geffen, joins the
Orchestra from the New York Philharmonic where he has served as
its artistic administrator since September 2000. He replaces
Kathleen van Bergen, who accepted a position with the
Philadelphia Orchestra in November 2004.
“To get
someone of Jeremy’s experience and expertise to join our
Orchestra is an outstanding achievement for this organization,”
said Randy Adams. “I’m looking forward to Jeremy and David
(Robertson) collaborating on many new and exciting programs in
the coming months.”
Prior to
joining the New York Philharmonic he was associate artistic
administrator for the Aspen Music Festival and School from
January 1998 to September 2000. He also served as a moderator
for the Aspen Institute from November 1999 to March 2000. Geffen
began his career in artistic administration with the Los Angeles
Philharmonic Association in May 1997 as coordinator of education
and community programs. He received a Bachelor of Music, Music
Industry degree from the University of Southern California and
is an accomplished violist.

at the institution as we enter into this new era with incoming
music director David Robertson.”
