SYMPHONY HOLIDAY SEASON BEGINS ON DECEMBER 16TH

David Robertson, David Amado, and Robert Ray to Conduct

ST. LOUIS - November 2, 2004 - The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra will present, in what has become a St. Louis area family tradition, a variety of holiday inspired concerts this December. The holiday series begins with David Amado leading the symphony and the talented St. Louis Children’s Choir in six performances beginning on Thursday, December 16th, at 2:00pm. These incredible performances will feature St. Louis native Jason Danieley and, his wife, Marin Mazzie, both stars of Broadway and London’s West End. Performances will take place at 2:00pm Thursday, December 16th; 10:30am Friday, December 17th (a Krispy Kreme Coffee Concert); 2:00pm and 7:30pm Saturday, December 18th; and 2:00pm and 7:30pm Sunday December 19th. Tickets for this extraordinary event range from $15-$60.

The holiday celebration continues with the tenth annual Gospel Christmas concert at 7:30pm Friday, December 17th. The phenomenal Richard Smallwood brings his ensemble, Vision, to perform along with the IN UNISON® Chorus, led by Robert Ray, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Powell Symphony Hall will be filled with the glorious sounds of gospel. This is going to be an evening to remember and an event that you surely will not want to miss. Tickets for the Gospel Christmas concert range from $15-$60.

The final concert of the holiday season will take place on New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31, at 7:30pm, hosted by master conductor and master showman, David Robertson. This is going to be a New Year’s celebration that will be fondly remembered well after the holidays have passed. Be sure to be a part of this magnificent New Year’s Eve extravaganza. Tickets for this unique event range from $20-$150.

All holiday concerts take place at Powell Symphony Hall, 718 N. Grand Boulevard (at Delmar) in the Grand Center Arts District.
