St. Louis Symphony Chooses Luden’s®

To Sweeten And Soothe!

TARRYTOWN, NY (February, 2013) – Luden’s®, the iconic throat drop brand that has soothed scratchy throats for more than 130 years, is proud to announce it has been named the official throat drop of the St. Louis Symphony.  The St. Louis Symphony, which has been performing since the time Luden’s® production first began, will now have the throat drops available to both performers and audience members to help prevent minor throat discomfort which could interfere with a performance.

Before the curtain goes up for each St. Louis Symphony performance, the Luden’s® logo will be projected and advise the audience that the drops are available from an usher.  Thousands of Luden’s® dropsare expected to be distributed to the St. Louis Symphony audience and performers.

Luden’s® is famous for temporarily relieving minor throat discomfort and is available in a variety of flavors to satisfy anyone’s taste buds. Beginning with the ever-popular Wild Cherry, the line of throat drops has expanded to include: Sugar-Free Wild Cherry, Wild Berry, Wild Honey, Honey-Lemon, Honey Licorice, Original Menthol, and Orange Vitamin C Supplement Drops.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Luden’s,”says Erika Ebsworth-Goold, Publicist of the St. Louis Symphony.  “Their products will be available for both symphony members and our audiences, and we know they’ll help soothe those dreaded dry throats during performances.  We are delighted that Luden’s® is the Symphony’s official throat drop, especially since the shade of Luden’s® Wild Cherry red perfectly complements the color scheme here at Powell Hall.”

“Both the Symphony and Luden’s® enjoy a long history and a proud heritage,” said Albert Hwang, VP at Prestige Brands, makers of Luden’s®.  “We are very pleased to join with this esteemed organization to do our part to enhance the performance for music lovers at Powell Hall.”

*Founded in 1880, the St. Louis Symphony is the second-oldest orchestra in the country and is widely considered one of the world’s finest. In September 2005, internationally acclaimed conductor David Robertson became the 12th Music Director and second American-born conductor in the Orchestra’s history. In its 133rd season, the St. Louis Symphony continues to strive for artistic excellence, fiscal responsibility and community connection. In addition to its regular concert performances at Powell Hall, the Symphony is an integral part of the St. Louis community, presenting more than 250 free education and community partnership programs each year. In June 2008, the Symphony launched Building Our Business, which takes a proactive, two-pronged approach: build audiences and re-invigorate the Symphony’s brand making the St. Louis Symphony and Powell Hall the place to be; and build the base for enhanced institutional commitment and donations. This is all part of a larger strategic plan adopted in May 2009 that includes new core ideology and a 10-year strategic vision focusing on artistic and institutional excellence, doubling the existing audience, and revenue growth across all key operating areas.
