ST. LOUIS SYMPHONY WINS ASCAP AWARD FOR ADVENTUROUS PROGRAMMING

The 2013-2014 ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming were recently announced, and St. Louis Symphony Music Director David Robertson and the orchestra were honored for Programming of Contemporary Music. ASCAP gave the STL Symphony a Second Place Award among Group One Orchestras.

The St. Louis Symphony was one of 27 American orchestras to be honored with an ASCAP Award at the League of American Orchestras National Conference earlier this month in Seattle. St. Louis received the award for featuring the works of such contemporary composers including Thomas Adès, John Adams, Brett Dean, Steve Reich, Ingram Marshall, Marc-André Dalbavie, Stephanie Berg and Patrick Harlin during its 2013-2014 season. The League and ASCAP present the awards each year to orchestras of all sizes for programs that challenge the audience, build the repertoire, and increase interest in music of our time.
