THE ST. LOUIS SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF THE HARRY POTTER FILM CONCERT SERIES TO POWELL HALL

 

Audiences will experience the remaining seven chapters of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series with the St. Louis Symphony performing music from the films 

 

(April 19, 2017, St. Louis, MO) – After the success of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert at Powell Hall in 2016, the St. Louis Symphony is pleased to announce that it will be performing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert, the second and third films in the Harry Potter series during the 2017/2018 season, and the rest of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series over the course of the next three seasons. The magical adventures of Harry Potter will be projected on a 40-foot screen as the orchestra performs the unforgettable scores live. Three more chapters from the Harry Potter series will captivate audiences during the 2018/2019 season and the final two installments of the series will come to Powell Hall during the 2019/2020 season.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabanin Concert

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, it is Harry, Ron and Hermione’s third year at Hogwarts, and they meet escaped prisoner Sirius Black and learn to handle a half-horse/half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. Harry withstands soul-sucking Dementors and faces a werewolf.

 

Performance dates and ticket sales information regarding the final five films in the series will be released at a future date.  

The bewitching and incredible music composed by John Williams for these films became instant classics, conjuring beautiful and soaring motifs as we continued the adventure of Harry Potter on his journeys. This film concert series has been created by CineConcerts, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and will be conducted by its creator and Producer, Justin Freer.
