Discover stories of composers who were impacted by the Holocaust in this new collaborative project between the SLSO and the St. Louis Feldman Holocaust Museum. In this first installment, Helen Turner, Director of Education and Interpretation for the Museum, will teach about composer Pavel Haas and his tragic Holocaust experience. The 20-minute composer story will be followed by a performance of Haas' String Quartet No. 3 performed live by musicians of the SLSO - Alison Harney and Nathan Lowry, violins, Beth Guterman Chu, viola, and Elizabeth Chung, cello. This hour-long event is free but RSVPs are requested. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors for the event open at 6:30pm.
