Professional Development Workshops

SLSO Early Childhood Professional Development Session

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 4:30-6:30 pm at Powell Hall. Dinner will be served after the session

In partnership with Ready Readers and as part of the Symphony In Your School Jr. program, The SLSO Symphony Education Team equips early childhood educators with tools to engage their students in music on a daily basis. Teachers are provided with lesson planning tools and ideas with an emphasis on creating and exploring music through the frame work of current early childhood curricula. Teachers will receive classroom resources and a copy of this year's featured book, "The Lion and the Mouse" by Jenny Broom. This session has been approved for 2 hours of professional development credit. Space is limited, apply today!

EXTRA CREDIT On Stage at Powell

Resident Conductor Gemma New leads music teachers and musicians of the SLSO in a special side by side concert at Powell Hall that celebrates the educators who teach music in our schools.

Educators who are interested in being part of this unique side by side experience with musicians of the SLSO should complete and submit the online application by October 1, 2017.
