Tiny Tunes Concerts

Early Childhood Concerts at Powell Hall

Give your preschool and kindergarten students the opportunity to sing, dance and play along with musicians of the SLSO. Tiny Tunes Concerts blend live orchestral music and children’s literature into a 30-minute interactive concert experience where we all perform together on the Powell Hall stage.

The Lion and the Mouse

The Lion and the MouseTuesday, February 9 at 9:30am, 10:30am & 11:30am**
Wednesday, February 10 at 9:30am, 10:30am & 11:30am**

Two unlikely friends — the mighty lion and the little mouse — take us on an adventure that proves even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. Edvard Grieg’s music from Peer Gynt brings the story of The Lion and the Mouse to life as we sing, dance and play instruments along with the musicians of the SLSO.

Presented in partnership with Ready Readers.

“In 30 minutes you allowed the students to hear up-close-and-personal the SLSO and the beautiful Carnival of the Animals, see visuals from the classic ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance,’ experience live ballet, have kinesthetic movement while playing instruments and using scarves, receive a copy of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’… What a comprehensive, valuable, amazing morning!” – Linda Noland, retired music teacher
