Link Up: The Orchestra Moves

Link Up: The Orchestra Moves - SOLD OUT

Recommended for grades 3-5

Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 9:30am and 11:00am
Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 10:00am

When an orchestra plays we hear sounds move as the musicians change their pitches, rhythms, and dynamics, causing the melody, rhythm, and harmony to change, shift, and develop. We see the musicians’ bodies move as they play. We feel our emotions moving and changing in response to the music we hear. Sometimes music might even create a sense of physical movement as sounds become heavier or lighter, rise up or tumble down. Through the Link Up curriculum and a culminating interactive performance with the SLSO, your students will discover how the orchestra moves.

OFFENBACH Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld
