Andrew Su

Andrew Su, age 13, is an 8th grader at Wydown Middle School. The 2023/2024 season will be his second year as a cellist in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, and his fifth year playing the cello. Andrew began cello lessons under the instruction of James Czyzewski, a cellist in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Andrew has been a part of the Community Music School of Webster University for 4 years, being in the CMS String Orchestra, Young People’s Concert Orchestra, and Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra. Andrew is also in a school orchestra where he has had the opportunity of performing in the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) three times.

Alongside playing the cello, Andrew enjoys hobbies like speedcubing, sketching, playing tennis, origami, playing the piano, and papercraft.

Andrew would like to thank James Czyzewksi, Carolyn Day, Monica Holy, Mariana Wood, Daniel Handerson, Patrick Jackson, his parents, and others who have helped Andrew in his musical journey.
