Anna Zhong, a sophomore at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, is in her fifth season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra and currently serves as co-concertmaster She began playing the violin at the age of five and joined the SLSYO in 6th grade. Anna has also been part of the Community Music School of Webster University orchestras for two years. She now participates in the Preparatory Program of CMS. In 2016, Anna won the first MBU/SCC Solo Competition and MTNA State Junior Strings. She also held third chair, 1st violin at 2017 Missouri All-State. In the summer of 2017, Anna studied with Ann Setzer at the Meadowmount School of Music. Anna currently studies with Joo Kim.

Anna also enjoys playing the piano, placing first three years in a row at the MMTA state competition. Besides playing the violin, she participates in afterschool activities such as Science Olympiad, Math club, and Ultimate Frisbee. She also often practices the art of procrastinating. In this time, she enjoys eating and sleeping, watching YouTube and K-drama, listening to music, and drawing.
