Charles Hamilton

Charles Hamilton

Violin

Kirkwood High School

Charlie Hamilton is a 17-year-old Kirkwood High School junior who has been playing violin for seven years. This is his second year in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

A St. Louis native, Charlie likes nothing more than toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake, and a trip to Busch Stadium to see the Cardinals play. In addition to violin, he enjoys reading, writing, and studying history.

In addition to the Kirkwood High School Symphony Orchestra, Charlie has played with several other local orchestras, including the Young Peoples’ Concert and Symphonic Orchestras at the Community Music School of Webster, and the Missouri All-State Orchestra. At the 2017 Missouri Music Educators’ Conference, he performed a solo with his school orchestra under the direction of Patrick Jackson.

Charlie would like to thank Ann Hirschl, JoEllen Lyons, Fariga Drayton, Joo Kim, Vera Parkin, Patrick Jackson, and his parents and grandparents for supporting his musical development.
