Chris Taylor is a sophomore at Southwestern Illinois College and is studying welding technology and geography. He is 19 and is a second year St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra bass clarinetist. Chris was selected for the Illinois All State Band in 2020 and 2021, and for the Honors Orchestra in 2022. He was also selected for the first jazz band as a tenor saxophonist at the district level in 2021 and 2022.

Chris has played the clarinet since the 5th grade. He participated in the District 90 Symphonic Winds and Jazz band beginning in 7th grade and recently finished his eighth semester in the O’Fallon Township High School Wind Ensemble. While at O’Fallon, Chris also participated in the Marching Band, Jazz band, and has played in the Pit for the following productions: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Addams Family, and Anastasia. Chris has continued his music by playing in the SWIC concert band and jazz band.

Chris would like to thank Dr. Birkner, Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Donahue, Mr. Mitchell, Dr. G, Mr. Carter, and Mrs. Vittetoe for helping him to become a better musician.
