Daniel Kent

Francis Howell High School

Daniel is a 17 year old senior at Francis Howell High School. He has been playing the trombone for 6 years and is looking forward to his second season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

His musical achievements include Missouri All State Orchestra freshman and sophomore years, All State Concert Band in his junior year, Community Music School of Webster University Young People’s Concert Orchestra from 2018-2022, and playing bass trombone for the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra for the ‘21-‘22 season. He was also a member of the Metro 8 district band every year since sixth grade, St. Louis Academy Brass Band, St. Louis Youth Wind Symphony, Jazz U, and Metro 8 High School Jazz Band. In addition, he is an active member of his school’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Marching Band. Daniel’s favorite musical experience to date is performing in the Interlochen Trombone Choir.

Outside of the trombone, Daniel plays piano and produces music for his friends. He also enjoys drawing, architecture, photography, podcasting, baseball, basketball, and spending time with family and his dog, Charlie.

 Daniel would like to thank his teachers: Ilya Litvin, Tyler Vahldick, and Jim Martin as well as his family for supporting him throughout his musical journey.
