Assistant Principal 2nd Violin Parkway Central High School

Ellie Yang is fifteen years old and a sophomore at Parkway Central High School. She is excited to join the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra in her first season after she was a substitute last year. Ellie has played the violin for seven years, and she started to learn how to play the piano at the age of five.

Ellie was a member of the 2017 Missouri All State Orchestra, and she currently plays in her school’s Symphonic Orchestra. In middle school, she was involved in the honors and chambers orchestras.

Outside of music, Ellie plays golf for Parkway Central and is a member of Science Olympiad, Academic Team, Mu Alpha Theta, and Operation 350. She also enjoys painting, swimming, listening to music, and spending time with her friends.

Ellie would like to thank her private teacher, Manuela Kaymakanova, as well as Joseph Bradley, Clay McKinney, Julia Sakharova, and everyone who has helped her develop throughout her musical career. She would also like to thank her parents, sister, and friends for all of their support.
