Gregory Shao

Gregory is 17 years old and is a senior at Lafayette High School. This will be his third season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Gregory started playing violin at the age of 9 through his school orchestra program. He is now the concertmaster of Lafayette High School’s Symphonic Orchestra. Gregory has also been selected every year as a member of the Missouri All State Orchestra since his freshman year of high school. Before auditioning for the SLSYO, Gregory participated in the Young People’s Concert and Symphonic Orchestras of the Community Music School of Webster University. He is humbled by the opportunity to play in the SLSYO and looks forward to furthering his musicianship this season!

In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, swimming, playing water polo, and spending time with his friends and family. Gregory would like to thank his friends, family, and teachers for all of their support throughout his musical journey.
