Hannah Serafino

Violin

University of Missouri - St. Louis

Hannah Serafino is a junior at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and is majoring in Violin Performance. She is 19 years old and has received her Associate of Fine Arts–Music Degree in violin and piano from East Central College in Union, Missouri. While studying at ECC, she received both the Outstanding Music Major Award and Scholarship, and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. At UMSL, she has received the Chancellor’s Scholarship for Academic Achievement as well as a Music Performance Scholarship from the Arianna String Quartet. Hannah began studying violin when she was eleven years old, and has developed a love for teaching violin and piano to young children; she is currently studying with Julia Sakharova of the Arianna String Quartet.

This is her first year in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, and she is honored to be able to experience this opportunity with so many excellent musicians. In addition to musical activities, Hannah enjoys training in Taekwondo, and is the music coordinator/choreographer for her martial arts Demo Team. Hannah would like to thank her family and her teachers, especially Dana Myers, Dr. Jennifer Judd, and Elizabeth Ramos, for all their support and assistance in her musical endeavors.
