Hayden Baker

Assistant Principal
Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Hayden Baker, 15, is currently a 10th grader at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. He has been playing violin for ten years, and this will be his 4th season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Hayden fell in love with music when he began playing the violin at age five with Mariana Wood during a school sponsored strings program at St. Louis Language Immersion Schools. He currently studies with Arianna String Quartet violinist Julia Sakharova. He is incredibly thankful for the hours of instruction and encouragement that his teacher has provided.

In addition to playing in his school’s Chamber Orchestra and Strolling Strings, Hayden participates in the Community Music School’s Preparatory Program. This past summer, Hayden participated in the Arianna Chamber Music Festival and Madeline Island Chamber Music for Strings program.
Hayden would like to express gratitude to those who have supported him throughout the years, including Mariana Wood, Twinda Murry, Vera Parkin, the Arianna String Quartet, his teacher Julia Sakharova, and his parents and siblings. When not playing his instrument, Hayden likes listening to all kinds of genres of music, spending time with his two cats, and hiking.
