Julia Harris is a 17-year old junior attending Cor Jesu Academy. She has studied violin for ten years with Mr. Joseph Kaminsky. In addition to her private studies, Julia has participated in the Young People’s Concert Orchestra and has attended the American Suzuki Institute. She has enjoyed working in master classes with both Almita Vamos and Helen Kim.

In 2010, Julia soloed with the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra after winning the Stars of Tomorrow Concerto Competition. She was also a two-time winner in the Laclede String Quartet Kids Competition, and her performances were played on KFUO Classic 99 radio. Julia has performed on both Fox 2 with Tim Ezell and Channel 11 with Patrick Clark. In the February/March 2009 issue of “Discovery Girls” magazine, Julia was one of the featured girls, pictured with her violin. In spring of 2017, Julia won the first place instrumental award in the MFMC State Junior Competition.

Julia loves performing no matter what the venue, and has studied dance for the past ten years. In her free time, Julia enjoys fitness, crafting, biking, and playing with her Yorkie, Sabrina.

Julia is honored to be a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She would like to thank her teacher, Joseph Kaminsky, and her grandparents for their endless support.
