Justin Wright

Justin Wright is a 20-year-old Junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) where he plans to major in Geospatial Information Systems while minoring in cello performance. Justin has studied cello with Stephanie Hunt for seven years and previously with Susanna Woodard in the SIUE Suzuki Strings Program. He currently studies cello performance with Dr. Simidtchieva at SIUE. Justin played cello with the ILMEA All-State Honors Orchestra in 2020, and the ILMEA All-State Orchestra in 2019 and 2021. Additionally, Justin won the SIUE John and Kay Kendall Concerto Competition Advanced Division and soloed with the orchestra in December 2019. He played cello in the Community Music School of Webster University Preparatory Program, the Alton Symphony, and with his family string quintet. He currently plays cello in the SIUE Symphony Orchestra and the Edwardsville Community Symphony. Justin thanks his grandparents, parents, and teachers for their support of his musical education.
