Assistant Concertmaster Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Born in 2002, Rebecca Lang is a freshman at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She started playing violin when she was 6 years old with one of her neighbors, Weihong Wang. Rebecca studied with Ms. Wang for about 5 years. In 2013, she then started to study with her current violin teacher, Xiaoxiao Qiang. Rebecca then joined the Young People’s Concert Orchestra of Webster University Community Music School and got a St. Louis Strings Scholarship that year. For the next 2 years, she was Concertmaster at YPCO. In 2016, Rebecca was awarded 3rd prize at STL Yangtze River Performing Arts Piano and Instrumental Competition. She then preformed solos at venues such as the 2017 St. Louis Chinese Spring Festival Gala, and the 2017 St. Louis Chinese Moon Festival Gala.

 Rebecca likes, reading, traveling, and eating. She also enjoys preforming for the residents at an elderly center.

Rebecca would like to thank many people, Ms. Weihong Wang, Ms. Xiaoxiao Qiang, Mr. Patrick Jackson, and most importantly her parents. She is looking forward to performing with the SLSYO and thanks them for giving her this unforgettable opportunity.
