Rose Haselhorst is 17 years old and she studies violin with Joo Kim. She is returning for her fourth season as a member of the SLSYO. Rose began studying violin with Joseph Kaminsky when she was four years old. She played in Webster University’s Community Music School orchestras beginning at age seven and including String Ensemble, String Orchestra, YPCO, and YPSO. She is currently a member of CMS’s Preparatory Program. This summer, Rose studied violin with Gerardo Ribeiro and chamber music with Kikuei Ikeda at the Meadowmount School of Music.

Rose has won awards from numerous competitions including Belleville Philharmonic “Stars of Tomorrow,” Great Composers Competition Series, and the Fabulous Fox Teen Talent Competition.

Rose is grateful to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra staff and musicians who devote their time to make the SLSYO an incredible experience. Rose would like to thank Joo Kim, Vera Parkin, her family, and all her wonderful teachers and mentors for nurturing her love of music.
