Portrait of Sam Caudell

Youth Orchestra

Samuel Caudell

Lutheran High School South

This will be Samuel Caudell’s third season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He is 17, attends Lutheran High School South as a senior, and has been playing the clarinet for five years. He studies under St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Associate Principal Clarinetist, Diana Haskell. Much of his time he devotes to his music and practice, as well as engaging in many of his other hobbies outside of orchestra life.

One of his favorite things to do is composing music, and he is constantly working to improve his skills. Recently, he attended the four-week MasterWorks Festival 2023, where he studied under Asheville Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinetist, Dr. Harry Hill. Before joining SLSYO, he performed with the Webster University Young People’s Community Orchestra. Samuel is very grateful to all those who have helped and supported him throughout his musical journey, and is honored to be a part of the SLSYO this year.
