Webster Groves High School

Shiloh Roash is a senior at Webster Groves High School. He returns to the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for the third year. He has been first horn in the WGHS Wind Symphony Band and Statesmen Symphony Orchestra, as well as a member of the Marching Band since 2020. He played in the Hixson Middle School Band and Hixson Honors Wind Ensemble from 2018-2020. He also played with the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra in the Community Music School of Webster University in 2020, won first chair in the 2020 St. Louis All Suburban Middle School Honors Band, was fifth chair in the 2022 St. Louis All Suburban High School Honors Band, and earned an honorable mention in the 2022 and 2023 Missouri All State High School Honors Band.

Shiloh began playing horn in 2017 and has been studying with Thomas Jostlein since 2019. He has participated in master classes with Thomas Jostlein, Roger Kaza, Heidi Harris, Eli Pandolfi, and the Illinois State University Wind Symphony. He also participated in Webster University’s Community Music School Preparatory Program in 2021.

As both a soloist and a member of a woodwind quintet, he received exemplary ratings in the 2022 and 2023 St. Louis District & Solo Ensemble Festival, gold ratings in the 2022 Missouri State Solo & Ensemble Festival, and a silver rating for his virtual solo performance in the 2021 Missouri State Solo & Ensemble Festival. He was also honored with the WGHS Students’ Choice Award for Best Concert Band Musician as a freshman and a sophomore.

Shiloh lives in Webster Groves with his parents, Neshama and Brian, older sister Taliyah (flute) and younger sister Leilie (trumpet and violin). He enjoys video games, camping, and has played on the WGHS Junior Varsity Tennis Team for three years.
