Legacy Giving: Charitable Lead Trusts

You can use a Charitable Lead Trust to transfer assets to loved ones and reduce gift and estate taxes by a significant amount. The trust allows you to provide immediate support for the SLSO through a fixed payment for a specific term. At the end of the term, the trust will transfer all remaining assets to designated heirs with reduced or no estate and gift tax.

Benefits:

  • Provide an immediate and reliable source of income to the SLSO, directed to the area most important to you.
  • Transfer assets to heirs with reduced or eliminated estate and gift tax.
  • Depending on how the trust is structured, you may also get an income tax deduction.

Please note: The purpose of this page is to provide general gift, estate and financial planning information. It is not intended as legal, accounting, or other professional advice. Consult your attorney or legal advisor if your plans require revision of a will or other legal document.
