Beethoven and his Wines

A journey through friendship, nature, and timeless music

Join Music Director Stéphane Denève and musicians of your SLSO for an evening of Beethoven’s Wines. Travel through time with Sommelier and Wine Historian Ron Merlino as he introduces us to the world of wine in Ludwig van Beethoven’s era.  

Hear Beethoven’s own words about wine, discover connections between vineyards and his works, and listen to selections from his string quartets performed by SLSO musicians, all accompanied by curated tastings of wines provided by Jason Main of The Wine Merchant, Ltd. and a plentiful charcuterie and dessert selection.
