Link Up

Introduce your students to the orchestra by helping them get ready to become a part of it!

Each season more than 5,000 students across the bi-state participate in Link Up. This hands-on music program for students in grades 3-5 explores orchestral repertoire in the classroom while preparing students to sing and play recorders or string instruments from their seats in a culminating SLSO Link Up concert. If you teach recorder, singing, or beginning violin, this program is a must!

2023-24 Link Up information coming soon. If you’d like to be notified about future Link Up opportunities, please complete the Interest Form below.

How it Works

  • Complete the online ticket order form to reserve your Link Up concert tickets and your seat at the Link Up Teacher Workshop.
  • Pay for your concert tickets when you receive an invoice from the SLSO Box Office. If your school qualifies, financial assistance may be available to help subsidize the cost of tickets and transportation.*
  • Attend the Link Up Teacher Workshop.
  • Use the materials provided by Carnegie Hall to prepare your students for the Link Up concert - most teachers start preparing after winter break.
  • Participate in the ultimate summative assessment of student learning, the Link Up concert, where your students perform along with the SLSO.

Link Up Materials

Everything you need to prepare your students for their SLSO debut is available on Carnegie Hall’s website. You’ll find interactive sheet music, downloadable recordings of the Link Up repertoire, enrichment activities, and more.
