A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Klaus Jöstlein has been playing violin since age four. Early studies were with Edmund Sprunger, and he currently takes from Winifred Crock.

He has participated in the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Arianna Chamber music festival, Apple Hill Music Camp, Interlochen NMC, as well as the Bayberry Advanced String Quartet camp. Equally at home in the jazz and fiddle genres, he has performed on the Dark Room summer series as well as a live stream at the Focal Point, not to mention on many of the 2020 front lawn series at this home.
