Ling Ling Guan

Ling Ling Guan has been a member of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since 1994. Early in her career, she won a full scholarship from the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland and studied with Sir Yehudi Menuhin and Alberto Lysy. Guan played many concert tours in Europe with the Camerata Lysy Chamber Orchestra.

Guan later was awarded a full scholarship from Boston University, where she received her Artist Diploma in Violin Performance and received the prestigious Kahn Award given to outstanding performers.

Guan attended two summers at the Tanglewood music festival.

During her time as a student in Boston, Guan performed as an extra violinist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops Orchestra and performed in Japan and Europe. Before joining the SLSO, Guan performed for two years with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician in Powell Hall and The Sheldon Concert Hall, both in St. Louis.
